Meet the Muckians

Passion and partnership go hand in hand for Mike and Jean Muckian, whose BRAVA columns “Play with Your Food” and “Play in the Spotlight” cover the local food/wine and performing arts scenes with a certain amount flare, glare and even savoir fare. That comes from investigating and writing about the two disciplines in Madison and Milwaukee for 25 years and 15 years, respectively. That also comes from a lifetime tag-team approach to communications that helps keep their ideas and columns well grounded even when they’re flying high over the possibilities.

The pair has a passion for their respective topics, as well as a genuine curiosity about the people who make it all happen. When she’s not tasting new dishes or dishing with local and international celebrities, Jean is pursing the final leg of her PhD in nursing at UW-Milwaukee. When he’s not sipping vintage wine or citing the works of artists well-known and not, Mike is spreading the good news about credit unions worldwide as senior communications manager for World Council of Credit unions.

Together, they try and shine a brighter light on all the culturosity to be found in Madison and beyond.
